DThe festive concert with the Vienna Boys’ Choir on November 22nd (7 p.m.) marks the ceremonial conclusion of the anniversary of the association “50 Years of the Mattersburg Model Cultural and Educational Association”.

The Vienna Boys’ Choir, who are celebrating their 525th anniversary this year, will sing a wonderful program in Mattersburg. In the first part of the concert, the program includes Mozart’s “A Little Night Music”, the “Tritsch Tratsch” Polka and the “Kaiserwalzer”. After the break, the most beautiful and well-known Advent and Christmas songs will be heard.

The new chairman of the Mattersburg model, Thomas Haffer, said: “I am very grateful and happy that we can bring the Vienna Boys’ Choir to Mattersburg for a concert and I am looking forward to this cultural highlight in the city.”

The Vienna Boys’ Choir is one of the most famous choirs in the world, and one of the oldest: in 1498, the Roman-German Emperor Maximilian I moved his court to Vienna; This laid the foundation for the Vienna Boys’ Choir. Today the Vienna Boys’ Choir is a private, non-profit organization that relies on sponsors and donations. The association maintains an elementary school and a high school with a focus on vocal music. 300 boys and girls between the ages of six and nineteen visit the campus in Vienna’s Augarten. The choral tradition of the Vienna Boys’ Choir is listed by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in Austria.

Tickets for this concert are available in advance at the Mattersburg Cultural Center or can be booked via Ö-Ticket.
