A 57-year-old died on Tuesday as a result of a traumatic brain injury. Her partner was arrested.
Two days following the bloody crime, the police and forensics are still at the crime scene on Gablenzgasse. In an apartment in a municipal building, a 57-year-old woman was found around 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening, who died as a result of a blunt traumatic brain injury.
Access for journalists is forbidden. The large police presence has not escaped the notice of the neighbors, as a KURIER local inspection shows. “When I drove to work, I saw a trace of blood in the stairwell. I live on the floor above, but I never heard any arguments. Not even on Tuesday evening. But the police have been to our house a few times,” reports like a neighbor.
This is also confirmed by another woman who lives in the house: “Since he moved in, the police have been there once more and once more. I don’t think the woman lived here either.”
The 53-year-old partner of the woman is an urgent suspect. He wrote to his mother on Tuesday that his girlfriend was no longer moving. She immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the apartment shortly followingwards.
On site, the 53-year-old Austrian opened the door to the officials. Inside, the police finally found the 57-year-old woman dead. The emergency services began immediately with the first aid measures and informed the Viennese professional rescue service. For the 57-year-old woman, however, any help came too late.
Man denies allegations
The man denied any involvement in the woman’s death. According to an alcohol test, the suspect was probably drunk, so that an interrogation was only possible at a later date.
The suspect was taken to a detention center following questioning. According to the autopsy results, the woman died of a blunt traumatic brain injury.
Whether this was caused intentionally or by an accident is currently still the subject of investigations by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, West branch.
