Suez – Hossam El Din Ahmed:
Citizens circulated a video clip of a tourist bus fire on the “Sukhna – Zaafarana” road, without causing any injuries.
In the video, the fire appeared when the bus stopped on the right of the road opposite the windmills project located 15 km from the ambush of Zafarana, while they fled to the top of a hill next to the road.
The Civil Protection Operations Room had received a report from motorists on the Zafarana Road stating that thick smoke had risen and a fire had caught the back of a bus.
Major General Sameh Bassim, Director of the Civil Defense Department, directed a firefighting vehicle to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to passing cars, in coordination with the Suez Traffic Department.
The inspection and the question of the passengers stated that smoke was emitted from the engine into the bus, coming from Cairo and heading to Hurghada, and the driver stopped at that time and the 45 passengers got off, in front of the windmills area at a distance of 15 km before the Zafarana ambush, and it was found that a short circuit had occurred and the engine caught fire.
Traffic on the road was running normally following the fire was brought under control.
