Russian tanks continue to advance towards Kyiv

STORY: Private US company MaxarTechnologies released high-resolution 3D satellite imagery on Friday showing a Russian military convoy slowly moving towards Kyiv. The recordings are said to have been taken on Monday. In Washington, a Defense Department official said Russian troops were still 25 kilometers from downtown Kiev. The Russian army continued shelling Ukrainian cities on Thursday, but was apparently only able to make few decisive gains in territory. The Russian invasion is said to have cost the lives of thousands of people. The Russian army admitted almost 500 of its own soldiers were killed, while the Ukrainian side spoke of over 9,000 Russian soldiers killed. Ukraine did not provide any information regarding its own losses. The information cannot be independently verified. Meanwhile, Ukraine and Russia have agreed to create humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians. During the escape from the combat zones, a lull in the vicinity of the corridors is possible, the Ukrainian side reported. At the beginning of next week they want to meet for further negotiations with a delegation from Russia.
