VIDEO | Royal Guard horse bites tourist

A British Royal Guard horse bit a tourist who was posing for a photo with the animal at the gates of the Household Cavalry Museum in London.

In a video circulating on social media, a group of visitors can be seen posing next to a royal guard riding the horse. After waiting her turn, the woman tried to take the long-awaited photo. However, the animal turned its head towards her and bit her hard above one elbow.

The tourist screamed and ran back to her group, where her companions checked her. Moments later, she can be seen kneeling on the ground. A person asks a man who was checking her if she had any serious injuries. “She is receiving treatment now,” he replied.

“I thought he was going to faint,” added the person who was filming the sequence.

The horse had already shown signs of being nervous about the number of visitors just before the incident. On two occasions caught on video, it tried to bite women who approached it, but was unsuccessful.

Taking photos with the Royal Guard’s horses is a very common practice among visitors to the British capital, even though these animals tend to be aggressive towards tourists who try to get close. There are even signs posted around the place that warn: “Be careful: the horses may kick or bite. Do not touch the reins.”
