Solo project created by Émeline Marceau, Roseland was born in 2016. Since then, two solo albums, an EP and a remix EP have been released. Émeline is also a member of the duo Great in Japan and musician pour Pyramid Kiwi et Fils.
Le nouvel album, “Unsaid Words” is made up of twelve exhilarating synth-rock tracks reminiscent of the sonic peregrinations of M83, Radiohead, ST Vincent or Sharon Van Etten.
“It’s never easy to define yourself, acknowledges the artist. At the beginning, I said that I was doing electro rock. Afterwards, pop, because there is a pop format in my songs, with a verse, a chorus. And then now I say I do synth rock because there are a lot of synths.” On the text side, the inspiration also varies.
I am inspired by me, but not necessarily. I’m talking regarding love, as I imagine the majority of bands, but also regarding society, regarding the questions we can ask ourselves regarding consumption. I write a lot regarding time passing, melancholy. But it is never fundamentally depressing. Finally, I hope.
