The Blues lost their Group A opener 83-68 on Friday.

The first game and first setback of armchair basketball for the Blues. Franck Bornerand’s players take on Team Canada (83-68) at Arena Bercy on Friday, August 30, against Team Canada competing in the Paralympic Games. The game struggled at the start, trailing by six points at the end of the first quarter, but France responded and even led by halftime (41-39), only to succumb at the end of the game.

The Blues’ disillusionment came as they were beaten in the Olympic qualifying round by the same team they beat last April (61-55). France are third in Group A and will be keen to get back on track after their opening defeat, facing Germany on Saturday and then England on Monday in the hope of reaching the semi-finals.
