Ajax vs. PSV: A Classic Rollercoaster Ride!
After their thrilling victory in De Klassieker against Feyenoord, Ajax managed to squirm past PSV in a nail-biting encounter, showing that not all heroes wear capes… Some just wear Ajax kits and have a knack for dramatic comebacks!
The Setup: What Went Down?
So, it was Wednesday night when Ajax’s boys traded blows with Feyenoord, only to flex their muscles against PSV. PSV were cruising like a well-oiled machine in the Eredivisie, but this time they met a team hell-bent on spoiling their fun.
Ajax fell behind not once, but twice! I mean, it was like watching someone fall off a bike—not once, but twice—then getting right back up and riding it better (probably with some added flair!). None other than Mika Godts—the kid made defenders tremble more than the thought of getting caught doing the Macarena at a wedding!
The Goals: Hold onto Your Seats!
PSV captain Luuk De Jong opened the scoring with a header that sent the die-hard PSV fans into fits of joy. It was like watching a cherry being dropped in a bowl of whipped cream—absolutely delightful! But hang on tight, folks; Davy Klaassen wasn’t about to let the party go off without a hitch. Just before halftime, he leveled the score, setting the stage for a classic showdown.
Coming out after the break, it was old warrior Ivan Perisic who decided to strut his stuff like a peacock, putting PSV ahead again. But once again, Ajax pulled the rabbit out of the hat through Fitz-Jim, leaving everyone wondering where this game was going next—like trying to predict which way a drunk man will stumble!
Godts Steals the Show!
Then came the moment that left the Johan Cruijff ArenA buzzing. Godts, having just come onto the pitch, managed to make the PSV defense look about as organized as a toddler’s playroom. He capitalized on some *ahem* less-than-stellar footwork from the Eindhoven team and netted the decisive goal. You could almost hear the collective sighs of the PSV fans—except it was more of a whimper, like a child who lost their favorite toy!
The Clutch Moments
While PSV scrambled to make sense of their lives post-defeat, the Ajax lineup was busy creating opportunities left and right. Kenneth Taylor even managed to hit the post, leaving many questioning if the goalposts were made of rubber! Meanwhile, PSV’s Johan Bakayoko came on with enough time to make a difference but seemed to have a Houdini act going on—disappearing when it counted.
What’s Next?
With this stunning victory, Ajax is licking its chops and is now just five points adrift of PSV, but hey, they’ve got a catch-up game to play! So, if you thought this was the last chapter, better think again—like a Netflix show that just won’t quit. This season is about to get spicier than your Auntie’s famous chili!
Stay tuned, folks! This rollercoaster ride of football drama looks set to continue, making us all wish for a front-row seat.
After the victory in De Klassieker against Feyenoord last Wednesday, Ajax also won the top match against PSV, which until now had cruised flawlessly through the Eredivisie. The team from Amsterdam fell behind twice, but Mika Godts had the last word with the decisive 3-2. Our young compatriot came in very active and made many PSV defenders tremble.

PSV captain Luuk De Jong seemed to put PSV on its way to victory after 18 minutes of football with a striking header on a corner from Noa Lang. However, Davy Klaassen (43.) tied the score again just before half time. After the break, PSV took the lead again through old warrior Ivan Perisic (54.), but Ajax again pulled alongside through Fitz-Jim (66.).
Godts makes the ArenA explode
It was an extremely attractive spectacle in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. PSV took the lead twice, but it was Ajax that would come out on top. Due to fumbling at the back of the Eindhoven team. Midfielder Tillman just played the ball close to his own sixteen-meter area into the feet of Mika Godts, who had just come on, who gratefully opened the present. PSV then pushed for the equalizer, but this did not produce any great chances, while Kenneth Taylor still hit the post for Ajax.

When he came on as a substitute, Godts was constantly involved in almost all of his team’s attacks and impressed with some clever dribbles. At PSV, Matteo Dams was replaced at half time. Johan Bakayoko came on again 20 minutes before the end but could not prevent the defeat.
Ajax is now within five points of leader PSV, and also has a catch-up game to play.
