  • Octagon returns to Bratislava on Saturday
  • Fans can expect interesting Czechoslovak battles
  • Things heated up between the fighters during the staredowns

Bratislava will have its “Štvanice” on Saturday, July 20. The gala evening OKTAGON 59 will take place under the open sky in the Peugeot Arena. If it starts to rain, the arena can deal with the vagaries of the weather thanks to a retractable roof.

It’s supposed to be a summer party, and at least the match card promises that it will be. Rony Paradeiser takes on former KSW Champion Daniel Torres at the Tipsport Gamechanger. Losene Keita will also challenge Predrag Bogdanovic in the million pyramid.

The legendary Ivan Buchinger will also go to the event, we can look forward to the Slovak hopes Lucia Szabová and Veronika Smolková. We will also see former bantam champion Jonas Magard or the battle of middleweight stars between Piotr Wawrzyniak and Andreas Michailidis.

But the fans are also looking forward to three Czechoslovak derbies. The most famous one will be the fight between Radovan Úškrate and Petr Knížet. Apparently Monster has the last “dance” in his career ahead of him.

Radek Roušal and Marc Novák and Ondřej Raška and the returnee Milan Ďatelinka will compete in the next two duels. And it was between these four that things really heated up before the duel.

The Octagon will offer heated derbies

Already on Friday morning after the official weigh-in, things were not exactly calm between Roušal and Novák, and therefore Raška and Ďatelinka during the staredown. He was very hungry. Nevertheless, Novák deflected Roušal’s overmotivation relatively calmly, he did not get involved in anything.

Raška, when he saw Ďatelinka entering the staredown especially in the afternoon at the public weigh-in, took the opportunity and entered him similarly. So there was a jostling of heads and the atmosphere was taken care of.

Ĥatelinka has lost three of its last four matches. The Octagon is giving him a chance after he left for RFA in 2022, but lost two out of three duels. Few expected his return, but now, as a participant in the first Octagon Challenge, he is getting a chance against a participant in the second Octagon Challenge.

Raška, for a change, won three of the last four duels. The match will be very interesting for both.
