As part of the press day, Australian HRC factory rider Hunter Lawrence took off violently in a long triple jump and hit the ground hard.
This Saturday, the 14th round of the US Supercross Championships will take place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. In the 250 class, the best of the East and West Coast series meet in the East/West Showdown.
On the Friday before the race, the protagonists of both classes will complete a few show laps as part of the press day. The course in the infield of the Motor Speedway is extremely demanding. Among other things, it has 3 washboard sections, 2 sand sections and technically demanding rhythm and jump sections.
A triple jump presented a challenge even for the 450 riders. The 250 riders have less power available and need to hit the take off very accurately and with maximum traction to make it over the third hill.
The Australian HRC pilot Hunter Lawrence, who competes in the West Coast Championship and up there P2 ranked, landed on the 3rd crest, was completely levered out and flew off with a somersault. His younger brother Jett immediately rushed to his aid. Luckily it might Hunter get back on your feet and leave the scene on your own two feet.
By the way, the races start earlier than usual today.
