During this landing, the passengers were shaken up: The German Lufthansa jumbo jet was regarding to touch down at Los Angeles Airport when it crashed hard onto the runway. The plane touched down roughly a second time before the cockpit crew decided to take off.
15 minutes later, the almost 10-year-old aircraft with the registration D-ABYP was able to approach the airport once more and touch down gently. It is still unclear how the complications during landing arose. Apparently no one was injured.
