Feyenoord put arch-rival Ajax through the meat grinder on Sunday on the 29th matchday in the Eredivisie. The Rotterdam team completely swept the visitors off the mat and sent them home with a historic 6-0 score. It is Feyenoord’s biggest home win ever against the Ajax players, who are having a disastrous season.
Feyenoord immediately grabbed its rival from Amsterdam by the throat. The logical lead eventually came after 34 minutes through Igor Paixao. Barely two minutes later the Rotterdam team won again: Yankuba Minteh (36.) took full advantage of a mistake by Hato and then kicked the ball bone dry against the ropes. Feyenoord showed no mercy and finally beat the visitors to the canvas just before the break: 3-0 via Hancko (45.+ 2).

Feyenoord continued their momentum after the break and completely razed an unrecognizable Ajax to the ground. After Minteh’s second goal (56.), Timber (62.) and again Paixao (67.) ensured the humiliating 6-0 final score.

At Ajax, our compatriot Mika Godts was again given a starting place, but he also failed to make his mark and was taken off after 65 minutes.
The Rotterdam team also won 0-4 in the Johan Cruijff ArenA earlier this season.
After the victory, Feyenoord (69 points) remains second in the rankings, well behind leader PSV (78 points). Ajax is sixth with 45 points.
