Video convicted the scammers: wheel aces let themselves be pulled by cars in races

24 riders and four sports directors were excluded from the Giro Next Gen on Thursday because they allowed escort vehicles to pull them on the difficult final climb to the Stelvio Pass.

Footage (below) showed clusters of drivers attaching themselves to cars.

Most of the disqualifications affected Italian riders, but also Belgian rider Tijl De Decker, winner of the Paris-Roubaix U23 race.

“Tijl De Decker will not start today. Due to a youthful sin that he will never commit once more,” his team Lotto-Dstny tweeted.
