The Buenos Aires justice will initiate an ex officio investigation of the police officer who tried to evade a police control, when he was delayed for driving with the adulterated license plate of his car, according to judicial sources.
In turn, the Criminal, Misdemeanor and Misdemeanor Prosecutor’s Office 11 ordered the Superintendency of Control of Professional Conduct of the Police of the CABA and the Judicial Investigation Corps (CIJ) of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Town.
The event occurred days ago in the vicinity of Parque Saavedra, when a police officer requested the arrest of a Toyota Corolla vehicle that was circulating with the license plate partially cut.

When he asked for the corresponding identification, the driver told him that he was “Inspector Commissioner Gómez” and that he had to know him because of his role as Inspector Commissioner.
Once the requested evidence is received, the defendant will be summoned to testify to determine if he committed the crime of abuse of authority and breach of the duties of a public official, the Buenos Aires Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
This measure is added to the request of the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) to withdraw the license of the police officer for his actions.
“This has to serve as a message of support to all the police and municipal agents throughout the country who control traffic. If someone tells you ‘you know who I am’, the answer should be ‘a citizen like any other’, and carry out your task to the end. Neither the living nor the chapean have a place in the road culture that we need”, said the executive director of the ANSV, Pablo Martínez Carignano.
At the request of the ANSV, the license of a CABA Inspector Commissioner who was circulating with the adulterated patent and wanted to appeal his position to be exempt from a control will be suspended.
He was investigated and made available by the City Police.
