Arms shipments and maneuvers – Tensions between Ukraine and Russia continue
Tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue. On Tuesday, a British military plane arrived in Kiev with a delivery of weapons. The delivery is regarding light anti-tank weapons, it was said from London. The authorities did not provide more detailed information on the quantity and type of weapons. Meanwhile, a planned maneuver by Russian and Belarusian troops in Belarus has drawn criticism. The military exercises give Russia more opportunities to attack Ukraine, a senior US State Department official said on Tuesday. Belarus and Russia have planned a joint military exercise for February, both countries border Ukraine. The German government has so far spoken out once morest arms deliveries to Ukraine. However, parliamentarians are calling for a reconsideration of this position.
Britain has supplied anti-tank weapons to Ukraine. In Germany, demands for arms deliveries to Kiev are getting louder.
