Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful storms recorded in the United States, hit the Florida coast on Wednesday, and dramatic television footage from the port city of Naples showed floodwaters pouring into beachfront homes, inundating roads and sweeping vehicles.
A video clip swept the Internet and showed a shark swimming in flood waters on Fort Myers Street, according to NDTV.
Twitter user Armando Salguero posted the 10-second clip of a fish hitting the water, and alongside the video, he wrote, “Sharks are swimming in the streets of Fort Myers.”
While the video garnered 10.2 million views, 18,200 likes and many comments.

In addition, residents were alerted by Florida officials regarding sightings of alligators, snakes and bears during Hurricane Ian, according to a Newsweek report.
In a statement, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) said that “you are likely to see alligators, snakes and bears, so remember to stay alert and give them space.”

In turn, the US Border Patrol indicated that 20 migrants were missing following their boat sank, while four Cubans swam ashore in the Florida Keys, and the Coast Guard rescued three at sea.
‘Very dangerous’
The National Hurricane Center said the eye of the “extremely dangerous” hurricane made landfall following 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT) on Cayo Costa Island, west of Fort Myers.

Ian is set to affect several million people across Florida and in the southeastern states of Georgia and South Carolina.
