An Ohio man implicated in a kidnapping attempted to attack a police officer in an interrogation room with a pencil.
According to NBC News, staff at a central Ohio school called the police because they suspected a man had attempted to abduct a 5-year-old girl.
He agreed to be met by the police during his arrest.
Reid Duran, 35, was not handcuffed in the interrogation room, as he was there voluntarily.
On the video released Thursday by the Xenia police, we see the individual take a pencil from the table, and a few moments later, he tries to attack the policeman.
The policeman managed to defend himself, and did not hesitate to violently push the individual to the ground.
“Put your hands behind your back now! Are you fooling me?” exclaimed the policeman.
Authorities say Duran lied to a school employee, saying he was coming to pick up his child, but the listings did not say he had custody of the child.
After his pencil attack, he confessed that he was trying to abduct the girl.
