It was literally a “hot trail” that led the TV councilor Erwin Steinhauer, known from the crime series “Die Toten von Salzburg”, to the kitchen of the luxury hotel “Goldener Hirsch” on Friday evening: Because there the actor prepared together with chef Daniel Mild seven-course special menu. Daniel Mild kept the professional overview, while Erwin Steinhauer ultimately foamed, but not with anger but with pleasure. Because his personal favorite dish – a foamy whipped zucchini soup with wild-caught pike-perch – was also on the menu.
When asked regarding the secret recipe for the soup, Erwin Steinhauer said: “It’s very important to have the right amount of onion and garlic – and then when you pour the vegetable stock, that you add a bunch of thyme so that you can flavor the soup.” For the actor, by the way, it can’t be too much garlic. “I love garlic more than anything. There are even colleagues who thought they might irritate me while acting by putting a clove of garlic in their mouth and getting very close to me, but I really enjoyed it,” says the actor mischievously- who, by the way, will be making a guest appearance on March 17 with his loved ones and HCArtmann – “I’m an adventurer and not a poet” – in the Oval in the Europark.
Head chef Daniel Mild also showed a sense of humor, saying that the recipe for Erwin Steinhauer’s favorite soup wasn’t difficult, “but we fiddled around until it looked difficult.” In the case of Erwin Steinhauer, it has also been shown that too many cooks do not spoil the broth. “It was great for all of us that Erwin was in the kitchen with us and cooked with us,” he emphasized. Of course, something like this doesn’t happen often, in fact “very rarely”, as hotel director Wolfgang Putz added. Because normally only real professionals are at work in the kitchen of the Goldener Hirsch.
Friday evening was a special edition of the “Mild kocht” culinary series. The next evening is on April 26th – under the title “Mild cooks Gut Wildshut. An evening with beer accompaniment.”
