Victory Day fireworks in Kursk region called off

The governor of Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, stated that the fireworks for Victory Day have been canceled due to safety concerns. As per Starovoit’s message on his Telegram channel, the authorities prioritize the safety of the public, which is why no parade or fireworks will be held on May 9. This decision comes following the parade was previously celebrated in the Kursk region. The authorities have yet to determine the format of the Immortal Regiment procession, but they assured that additional information will be announced. The Belgorod region also made a similar decision. The authorities of the Kursk region canceled the fireworks in honor of the Victory Day for security reasons, said the governor of the region Roman Starovoit.

“As I said earlier, today the safety of fellow countrymen is a priority, so it was decided to refuse to hold a parade and launch fireworks on May 9,” Starovoit wrote in his Telegram channel.

Earlier in the Kursk region, the parade was celebrated on Victory Day. The authorities promised to additionally inform regarding the Immortal Regiment procession, its format has not yet been determined. A similar decision was made in the Belgorod region.
