Victoria and Daniel from Sweden deal with the rumour: ‘There is no divorce’

For weeks, the Swedish media Stoppe Pressarna has been distilling rumors regarding a marital crisis among Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden. According to the newspaper, which quotes people close to the princely entourage (still under cover of the greatest anonymity) and even (it is said) a bodyguard, the princess and her husband would have had recourse to a therapist to try to save their marriage following Victoria allegedly learned of a discrepancy from her husband during their eleven years of marriage.

Sure of his first-hand information, the media even brandished the prospect of an imminent divorce. Faced with such allegations which do not fail to surprise, the head of communication for the Royal Court of Sweden, Margaretha Thorgren came out of her silence to forcefully deny these gossip and let go laconically: “There is no divorce”.

It was in 2002 that the princess met Daniel Westling, owner of a trendy gym club in Stockholm. After having had to convince King Carl Gustaf of the solidity of the relationship, the marriage was celebrated in June 2010. Two children Estelle and Oscar crowned this union which has always seemed happy.

Not easy for the couple to find themselves at the center of the rumor, especially if it turns out to be totally unfounded. They continued without change to honor their official commitments. We might thus see them during a theatrical performance, at the opera with the sovereigns, at a video conference with the governors of the counties, at a meeting on the situation in Ukraine and with the hotel sector. Relaxed, smiling and attentive as always.
