SECRETARY of the Steering Committee of the 6th Congress of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Syaiful Huda, said that Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will be accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto to attend his party’s congress.
He said the presence of the Vice President and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs at the PKB Congress represented President Joko Widodo. “At the same time, the President has an activity that cannot be missed,” Huda said when contacted by journalists in Badung Regency, Bali, Saturday (8/24).
Previously, PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar on Friday (23/8) said that his party was waiting for an answer regarding President Joko Widodo’s certainty of arriving at his party’s congress.
“Yes, that’s the certainty, God willing, but I’m still waiting for an answer about the exact time,” said the man who is familiarly called Cak Imin before leaving for Bali at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang City, Banten, Friday (23/8).
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, in a short message to reporters in Jakarta, Saturday (8/24), explained that the President has no agenda for a visit to Bali. “The President has no agenda for a working visit to Bali,” said Yusuf.
Meanwhile, the Vice President accompanied by his wife Wury Ma’ruf Amin departed for Bali Province using the Indonesian Air Force’s Special Presidential Aircraft Boeing 737-800. The Vice President and his entourage took off from the Indonesian Air Force’s Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, heading for I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali at 14.00 WIB.
The main agenda of the Vice President on the first day of the working visit is to attend the Opening of the VI Congress of the National Awakening Party which will take place at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center at 19.00 WITA. (Ant/J-2)
