The Oviedo rider Vic González, who is the flag bearer for Spain in the Paralympic Games in Beijing, has been disqualified this morning in the snowboard test that he was supposed to compete in. His disqualification, according to an official note from the Spanish Paralympic Committee, is due to the fact that he “is involved in a disciplinary matter”, of which no further information is provided. “The Spanish Paralympic Committee cannot make additional comments on the circumstances of this measure until the case is resolved,” they add from the committee. At the moment, the Asturian athlete is also silent about what happened. His participation in the remaining tests is up in the air.

The Asturian rider has participated in the two qualifying rounds, with a fall in the first that has penalized him in time with respect to the other competitors, but a better execution in the second has allowed him to qualify in last place.

“In the second round I managed to finish the route without crashing and I am very happy to be able to fight tomorrow on this circuit together with 3 other riders, which will give me an advantage. I am satisfied with my work and the work of my team and I hope to be able to qualify in the first round to achieve, at least, a Paralympic diploma, ”explained Vic González after the qualifying test, before learning of his disqualification.
