Vibrant return of the Zinneke Parade: “We celebrate the diversity of Brussels” (PHOTOS)

This Saturday took place the 12th edition of the “Zinneke Parade”, on the theme of “trompe-l’oeil”. Report at the heart of this unmissable brusseleir event.

Cacophony of drums and other wind instruments, titanic giants made of salvaged material, wacky and colorful costumes… There were curious thousands this Saturday afternoon to come and celebrate the Zinneke Parade in the capital. “I’m from Anderlecht, and this is the first time I’ve come. What a nice surprise. It’s the Brussels we love: quirky, crazy, open”s’amuse Catherine, 65 ans.

It must be said that this 2022 edition has a particular dimension, a taste of reunion: it has been four years since Brussels had known Zinneke in its streets. Due to the pandemic, the biennial festival was held “virtually” in 2020, without a procession. Two years later, festive life resumes its course. Around 3 p.m., the procession began to walk cheerfully through the streets of the neighborhood around the Grand-Place.
