The Long Tong Festival is a traditional festival dating back to thousands of generations of the Tay people in the Viet Bac region and was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2017.

On January 31, in Phu Dinh commune, Dinh Hoa district, province Thai Nguyenthe People’s Committee of the district inaugurated the safe Long Tong festival in Dinh Hoa-Xuan Quy Mao area.

At the ceremony, many traditional rituals were performed such as the Harvest Festival of the Tay and San Chay ethnic groups; The ceremony to pray for blessings of the Dao ethnic group, the ceremony to go to the field (plow the land) … with the meaning of praying for all the good things for a year of agricultural labor, praying for favorable rain and wind, praying for Nong – the god of rulers manage the fields for a bountiful harvest, the village is happy and prosperous.

Participating in the festival, visitors from all over the world will be immersed in folk games such as: tossing dragon, lion and dragon dance, traditional martial arts dance, balancing bridge… experience cultural and historical values. historical relic of the safe zone, where the Party and Uncle Ho built the revolutionary war zone, and at the same time recreate the cultural values ​​of thousands of years of ethnic minorities in the Viet Bac region.

Along with the traditional activities, this year many new points have been included in the program by the Organizing Committee such as introducing the tea culture space; folk songs of all nations; cultural space to introduce the national intangible cultural heritage in combination with the introduction of typical and safe products of Dinh Hoa area; experience and enjoy the then Tay tunes of Dinh Hoa district which has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
