“Vibra Scope” .. the companion of the civil defense to save lives under the rubble

Rescuing lives from under the rubble requires a lot of patience and skill on the part of civil defense agents. As well as the use of special tools and advanced devices to accurately detect the whereregardings of the victims.

This ongoing operation in Turkey and Syria, in which civil defense agents use five basic devices. In addition to the trained dogs that help them read the geography of the place under the dam.

The Vibrascope is one of the most popular devices carried by civil defense personnel today. There are 5 basic types of it:

devices seismic sensorwhich are used during urban search and rescue operations by rescue workers to locate buried victims.

In their complex mission in northern Syria and southern Turkey, most of the “Civil Defense” teams carry with them “Tec, RD90” search cameras, which allow them to see victims trapped under the rubble, and to locate narrow places that rescuers cannot reach.

It is also found in the bag of civil defense agents. control box Through it, the location of the victims is determined with high accuracy, which facilitates the excavation process.

It is also used by civil defense agents Advanced scannerwhich works very efficiently in the first hours of the disaster.

This equipment has been tested by the International Civil Defense Organization several times in recent years before it officially entered into service. To contribute to saving many lives, especially in the 8.9-magnitude earthquake that struck northeastern Japan in 2011.

It also revealed the victims of the 7.4-magnitude Canterbury earthquake in New Zealand in 2010, and the 2010 Chilean earthquake.

Defy massive destruction

The importance of these minerals is increasing, compared to the size of the buildings damaged by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Where the initial outcome of the number of damaged buildings is estimated at regarding 7 thousand buildings, of which more than 900 buildings completely collapsed in Turkey.

Hundreds of civil defense personnel from 70 countries traveled to Syria and Turkey to take part in the rescue operations.

These countries, in addition to 14 international organizations, were keen to send agents who have extensive experience in rescuing people in difficult cases.

For example, the Synotechnical Division of the Algerian Civil Protection “Civil Defense” was able to locate dozens of earthquake victims, using these advanced devices.

The first lieutenant of the Algerian Civil Protection, Youssef Abdat, who is in Syria, said that this difficult and complex task requires a lot of caution, experience and advanced equipment.

These devices, the Algerian civil defense agents, helped rescue 11 people from under the rubble and retrieve 26 bodies in Turkey.
And the rescue of one person and the recovery of 11 bodies of people who died under the rubble of the earthquake in Syria, so far.

It continues its searches day and night and under floodlights, with the help of manual digging machines, trained dogs and Vibrascope devices.

Dogs are better

Despite the importance of Vibrascope, experts view trained dogs as the best way to detect the location of earthquake victims under the rubble.

“There are several methods and modern techniques used to save people during major disasters,” Professor Abdel Karim Shalghoum, President of the Great Risks Club, told Sky News Arabia. “However, trained dogs remain the best means that can accurately determine the victim’s condition and whereregardings.”
