The 37th edition of the Telethon, the most important charity event of the year, began this Friday. And this year, it is sponsored by Vianney. The 32-year-old singer took his role as godfather to heart and in which he invested to collect as many donations as possible to advance medical research.
The Telethon continues this weekend. The largest charity event of the year has already raised nearly 36 million euros which will be used to advance scientific research to fight once morest patients who were once incurable. Each year, a personality is chosen to be the godfather or godmother of the edition. In 2023, the singer Vianney was selected.
“People remember that they are generous”
A role that he immediately took to heart and in which he invested himself: “I didn’t sleep much, because what matters to me are recent encounters, but which will count forever in my life. I can’t help but think of these children who count on us and for whom everything is at stake in these kinds of moments. We are living a key moment,” confides the 32-year-old singer.
What impresses him the most is the outpouring of generosity that is rising among the French for this event: “People remember that they are generous. That’s the people of France, they are in the process of mobilize and lift assemblies. We have our eyes glued to the counter.” It also takes the appeal of the president of the association, Laurence Tiennot-Herment: “Every donation counts. There may be some who are listening to us and who have never donated for the Telethon and that does not matter, we “Everything starts with a first time.”
