Via Instagram: Marco Reus wants to lure former BVB colleagues to Los Angeles

The 35-year-old shared a photo showing himself in front of the Galaxy slide world in Erding. He wrote in English: “Oh ****. I think I misunderstood when Marco said: Let’s meet at Galaxy this week.”

An allusion to the Los Angeles Galaxy club, with whom Marco Reus signed a two-year contract a few days ago. But now Mats Hummels was standing in front of the thermal baths in the Upper Bavarian town of 35,000 inhabitants – and not in LA (all news about former BVB stars on RUHR24).

BVB legend jokes about transfer: Marco Reus believes there is room for Mats Hummels in Los Angeles

The former BVB captain responded to the unusual Instagram post after about two hours, with an equally unusual response.

“There should still be room for an outside-of-the-foot cross,” wrote Marco Reus. Background: Because of his feared outside-of-the-foot crosses, Mats Hummels calls himself “aussenrist15” on Instagram, with the 15 standing for his preferred shirt number.

Marco Reus openly made a job offer to his former BVB colleague Mats Hummels (they played together in black and yellow for nine years). However, he was probably joking.

BVB farewell completed: Mats Hummels was recently discussed in England

Most recently, Mats Hummels was in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion. Coach Fabian Hürzeler explained in Sky-Interview that his club is intensively involved with the experienced central defender.

“We had good discussions and at the end of the day the player has to decide whether he can commit 100 percent to the club,” said Hürzeler. While Mats Hummels is currently still looking for a club, Marco Reus has already made up his mind.

BVB veteran Marco Reus: This is what he says about his move to Los Angeles

The BVB veteran said of his move to Major League Soccer: “It was clear to me that I definitely did not want to stay in the Bundesliga. And to be honest, Europe was not an option for me either, because I want to do something completely different at the end of my career. Something different in terms of language, something different for the family.”

And further: “Simply to have the opportunity to be noticed somewhere else, to continue your education and to see a different horizon.”
