VfB Stuttgart Drama: The Future of Claus Vogt as President and Supervisory Board Boss

He was the last to arrive at 8:30 a.m. sharp and was (almost) the first to leave at 2:32 p.m. But how long will Claus Vogt (54) remain president AND supervisory board boss of VfB Stuttgart?

That still seems unclear after almost six hours of the supervisory board meeting (now eleven members with Porsche board members Meschke and Reimold) on Thursday in the soccer lounge of the MHP Arena.

When BILD asked the controversial VfB boss as he left the stadium whether something concrete had been decided, he replied: “I can’t tell you that. If so, we must first inform our members about it.”

Essentially, the question is whether Vogt – as he promised in writing when Porsche joined VfB – will free up the position of chairman of the supervisory board for a new beginning.

Or whether he clings to the promise of the then VfB President Wolfgang Dietrich (75). When the professional company was spun off, he had promised the members that the club president would always be head of the supervisory board. However, the promise does not exist in writing. It is not binding.

Supervisory board members Christian Riethmüller (49) and Beate Beck-Deharde (69) leave at 2:04 p.m. The words “problems with power-hungry men” are clearly audible…

Sequel follows.

Hope in the relegation battleCologne is fighting and Stuttgart is stumbling!
