“Very strong increases” to come alert 60 million consumers

Inflation on basic necessities is expected to continue in France, in particular due to the war in Ukraine

With rising commodity and energy prices, farmers and manufacturers are under pressure. These increases are reflected in the price of food products and consumers, who have been suffering from inflation for several months now. The war in Ukraine and the sanctions against Russia do not improve the situation. According to a study by The Nielsen Institute IQthe price of pasta increased by 11.4% between February 2021 and 2022. It is 3.4% increase for pulses, 2.6% for oils, 2.5% for roasted coffee and 2.4% for rice.
