Founded in 2011 by Louis-Christophe Moissonnier, the engineering company Vertical Sea comes under the control of Weinberg Capital Partners. The founding director, hitherto a large majority alongside fifteen key executives, retains his position as president and a significant share of the capital. The arrival of WCP also makes it possible to expand the round table to nearly a hundred Vertical Sea employees – out of the 350 that the company currently has. The financing of this primary LBO is supplemented by senior debt (tranches A and B) arranged by BNP Paribas and Crédit du Nord, as well as a PIK provided by CIC Private Debt. In addition to contributing to the acquisition of the engineering company, the financing includes €15 million of pre-negotiated capex lines for future build-ups. The SME specializing in projects related to the living environment and its improvement (real estate, environment, digital services, civil engineering, etc.) is currently studying potential external growth, and has already carried out five in recent years. Today with €45 million in revenue (double that of 2018), it hopes to maintain its growth rate by increasing its territorial coverage and its sector specialization. To date, Vertical Sea has nine agencies in France and two in Morocco, and is able to carry out construction projects, from design to delivery, including site supervision. Its technical know-how in facades, fluids and structures has enabled it to win calls for tenders such as those for the renovation of sales areas and shops at Montparnasse station, the construction of the Nantes University Hospital and the training center. of Paris Saint Germain.
