Before the final of the Belgian Cup on Monday, there was another, this Sunday this time, with our Dutch neighbors. It opposed the enemy brothers of the championship, Ajax and PSV, who are also vying for the Eredivisie title.
This final will have been spectacular. Zahavi saw his goal disallowed, Tadic was not awarded a penalty (however, it was very borderline…) but the Ajacides still opened the scoring through Gravenberch (23′, 0-1). Just before the break, another goal, from Tadic this time, was canceled by VAR.
Back from the locker room, PSV reversed the situation in two minutes: the equalizer fell through Giuterrez (48′, 1-1) before another goal from Gakpo (50′, 2-1). VAR intervenes once once more to cancel out a goal from Klaassen. Vertessen then enters, finds the bar, leaves the lawn injured but can above all celebrate the cup victory, since Ajax will not return. This is the 10th cup in club history.
