Verstappen leads third practice

It’s clear. Dry. Air + 22C, track + 36 … 35C

Usually the third training session in Bahrain is not very informative – the air and track temperatures are higher during the day than in the evening, when the main sessions of the weekend will take place, but not all teams were able to find an approach to the new cars – and they considered free races in Bahrain as a continuation of the tests.

Mercedes tested the DRS system, which the day before did not work on Lewis Hamilton’s car – and today it swayed noticeably less on straight lines.

Tsunoda’s car had hydraulic problems and missed the session. In the 27th minute, Charles Leclerc, following turning around in the 11th turn, flew into the gravel, but was able to get out and returned to the pits.

Ferrari mechanics unsuccessfully released Carlos Sainz right in front of Fernando Alonso – the Alpine driver had to stop to avoid a collision. The stewards will review this incident following the session.

The fastest time was shown by Max Verstappen with a lap time of 1:32.544.
