When Milan Fashion Week was held a few weeks ago, a question arose regarding its programming: where is the Versace show? The firm’s creative director, Donatella Versace, wanted to unseat Milan Fashion Week this year to wearr her autumn/winter 23-24 collection to one of the Californian cities where she has worked the most and with which she still maintains the most ties, Los Angeles.

The cradle of the cultural scene and of Hollywood actors has served as the setting for an impressive collection in which nothing has been lacking. The first hint of what was to come was meeting the models who would be on his catwalk. Friends of the firm and newcomers – like Irina Shayk, Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner- They paraded in front of all the VIP attendees to present a collection that took the 1995 Atelier collection of the same brand as its starting point. A fact that explained why Versace distanced himself from the opulence that characterizes him on this occasion and opted for much more subtle elements than those he is used to, with a color palette in which black took center stage and was accompanied by other shades such as orange, pink or blue.

Versace recovered patterns from the 90s and made an impact with a proposal full of pieces that commemorate the past. Little black dresses, hourglass waists, mini silhouettes, sheath dresses, maxi sleeves, opera gloves, floral prints and an endless number of pieces that leave behind the trends of the 2000s that we have seen so much for a year, and that present a collection that makes us wonder if we should search our turn-of-the-century wardrobe. In Harper’s Bazaar Spain we collect below the photographs of the parade. We can’t think of a better finishing touch to this first fashion season of the year.
