Verónica Ocampo is the actress who played one of the models who had a relationship with the owner of Ecomoda, in Fernando Gaitán’s soap opera.
After starring in several kissing scenes with the renowned Armando Mendoza in the telenovela ‘Yo soy Betty, la fea’, life changed for Cali actress Verónica Ocampo, who is now based between Spain and Switzerland.

In an exclusive interview for Pulzo.com, the actress and presenter tells us regarding her life following playing one of Marcela Valencia’s strongest rivals in the plot.
Her life on the small screen began as a presenter on a program called ‘The Selection’, along with Andrea Serna and Carolina Lizarazo. Then he came to Caracol Televisión to present NBA reports and from there he jumped to ‘Don’t change it’.
“There I met the actor Julio César Luna and I began to make my first steps on television in a soap opera where he acted, called ‘Alejo Durán’. Then I met Fernando Gaitán and I came to ‘Betty,'” Ocampo said..
As for his character, Ocampo had complicated situations for being ‘the darling’ of the owner of Ecomoda.
“When the novel was filming, they pushed me in an airport. They told me: ‘Why was he doing this to Betty?’ “That I was a bad woman,” said the actress and model.
Ocampo remembers his character with great affection. He had a good relationship with Jorge Enrique Abello (Armando Mendoza) and with Julián Arango (Hugo Lombardi); In fact, before starting the soap opera she was a very good friend of Abello.
Regarding the kissing scenes with Mendoza, the actress said:
“The kisses with Armando were a little stressful, but Abello is a very professional person and we had a great friendship, so that helped, although it sounded strange to be kissing with your friend, but it helped a lot.”

After ‘Betty’, the actress made some appearances in the soap opera ‘A donde va Soledad’. She then settled in Spain where she studied acting at the Juan Carlos Corazza school and from there she appeared in a small series of nurses.
“Life changed for me, I started working on other things and settled in Europe, following 10 years I returned to Colombia and spent 4 years working on other things outside of television, then I returned to Spain and met my husband with whom “I won the lottery,” Ocampo said.

“I have a wonderful 8 year old son, My husband is an incredible man, he is a very Latinized Italian man and we live between Switzerland and Spain.“said Verónica, who is dedicated to being a housewife.
Ocampo said that she was introduced to him by a mutual friend of the couple on a trip she took to Ibiza, Spain. “It was a very nice courtship for a year and a half and we got married.“.
Her life is currently separated from the camera, she sadly says, but she does not rule out returning to presentation or acting at some point.
“Someday I come back, be it here in Spain or Colombia, I would love to be able to do it once more, that’s what it calls for,” he said.
