CLEVELAND — Alex Verdugo hit a three-run homer, Jarren Duran had four hits and one RBI, and the Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Guardians 4-2 on Saturday for their six-game winning streak.
Verdugo’s two-out rocket sent the ball across right field off Shane Bieber (3-4) to give Boston a 3-2 lead in the sixth.
Duran added an RBI single in the ninth off Enyel de los Santos.
The fiery Red Sox moved 10 games over the .500 mark, their best record of the season. This month, his record is 18-4.
Boston owns the second-best record in the majors as of May 10, at 31-12. However, they remain 11 games behind the New York Yankees, leaders of the American League East.
