Today, Tuesday, the Economic Court reserved the verdict in the trial of Mortada Mansour in Case No. 728 of 2023, Cairo Economic Misdemeanor, in accusing him of insulting Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, for the current May 30 session.
Muhammad Othman, the lawyer, had submitted a report to the Public Prosecutor in his capacity as the representative of Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club, accusing Mortada Mansour of committing crimes of slander, insulting the reputation of families, defamation of symptoms, spreading false news and misusing social media.
The communication included that the crime of insulting and slander took place during a sports program on August 18 of last year, following the issuance of a final, enforceable ruling that imprisoned him for one month with hard labour.
Mortada Mansour had served a one-month prison sentence in Wadi al-Natrun prison after being convicted by the Court of Cassation of insulting and slandering Mahmoud al-Khatib.
