The Venezuelan U-18 baseball team already knows its opponents for the Pre-World Cup in this category that will be held in Panama from August 2 to 11. The team led by Héctor Machillanda is in Group B along with the United States, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Curacao, Costa Rica and the host Panama.

Group A is made up of Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala. The locals’ journey to the WBSC U18 World Cup will begin on August 2 once morest Brazil at the Rod Carew Stadium.

The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, where the two teams that qualify for the U-18 World Cup will be determined. The winner of the tournament will also be crowned the U-18 Pan American Baseball Champion.

The Commissioner of Professional Baseball of the Caribbean, Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, reported yesterday that Venezuela will host the Kids Caribbean Series in 2025.

“We are sure that it will be an unforgettable experience for all participating countries and a significant step for the development of children’s baseball in our region,” Puello Herrera said in statements reported by the LVBP.com website.

It should be remembered that the inaugural edition of the tournament took place this year in Panama, where the national team lost the final to the Dominican Republic by 12-10.

Regarding the choice of the country as the host for next year, the president of the LVBP, Giuseppe Palmisano, said the following:

“We were able to apply and obtain the votes to host the Caribbean Kids Series in Venezuela in 2025. We are very excited to host the second edition and for the support of the entire Assembly.”
