The Ecuadorian authorities are investigating the death by electrocution of a Venezuelan minor in a public school in the north of Quito, according to the Ministry of Education.
The events occurred on Thursday when the 15-year-old student named Daniel was playing soccer in the rain in the schoolyard, and when he slipped he grabbed a mesh with an electric current that electrocuted him and caused his death. immediately, quoted Efe.

The event prompted a demonstration by parents of the rest of the students of this educational institution, who demanded “justice for Daniel”, who had lived in Ecuador for four years, according to his relatives.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education said it “deeply regrets the death of the student belonging to a fiscal educational institution located in the north of the city,” and conveyed its solidarity to the family and the educational community.
He specified that, through the Undersecretary of Education of the Metropolitan District of Quito, the authorities of the educational institution communicated with the relatives of the deceased student and with the ECU 911 emergency system, “as part of the routes and protocols that must be activated for cases like the one raised.
“At the moment, the appropriate investigations are being carried out by the competent authorities, to clarify what happened,” the official note said.
The Ministry of Education reported that in order to “precaution the safety of the educational community” face-to-face classes have been suspended in the educational center until there is a “technical solution in the infrastructure” of the same.
Likewise, technical personnel from the Risk Management Area of the Undersecretariat analyze the institution together with technicians from the entity in charge of the city’s electrical energy, to identify “exactly the problem registered in the infrastructure of the campus and provide the technical solution necessary”.
The Ministry of Education is also in coordination with the National Police and Legal Medicine to know the reports corresponding to the case.
