We are facing the elections that everyone has been waiting for, with hope brimming with faith on the faces of the majority of Venezuelan opposition members. Knowing that the Regime has accentuated and displayed its conflictive, opportunistic and abusive vocation, attacking the Democratic Unitary Candidacy, the only anti-continuist rival, the Opposition in general is determined and armed with courage.
The movement for Change ignores the persecution and imprisonment of people belonging to the opposition command and those who dare to provide their basic services to its mobilization and proselytizing concentrations.
This unprecedented and unlikely situation in an electoral campaign, according to which the government and its unconditional supporters, in a fundamentalist outburst of paranoia and hysteria, have taken to attacking their electoral adversaries, is the prominent characteristic of Chavismo, now on display in the midst of the presidential contest; the course indicated to the Opposition perhaps with the intention of intimidating it, or provoking the electorate to abandon the Electoral Route and the abstention sought by the Regime; a matter very far from reality, given the irreducible willingness of the people to go and vote.
The government is using a cunning and bitter language, warning of its path to escalation; threatening, no longer with the premises of “they will not return” or “by fair means or foul we will win the elections”, but shouting loudly, accusing the Opposition of wanting to “cause a bloodbath” – if Edmundo wins – with a civil war.
A reckless assertion, it is in the interest of scaring the peace-loving citizenry; and according to them it corresponds to the ‘malevolent’ ultra-right intention of oligarchic surnames, willing to hand over Venezuelan sovereignty to the US empire – and not to the Chinese or Russian one -, alienating Venezuela’s energy capacity for the benefit of foreign transnationals and neo-colonialist desires; undermining the ‘well-being’ and ‘future’ of Venezuelan ‘compatriots’. They are precisely the heroes called to save us from the opposition’s audacity?
How to describe such an official distortion of reality?
Exacerbated rhetoric in the ‘political’ discourse or a consequence of the desire for continuity?
According to the Chavistas, the Opposition does not want to acknowledge the electoral defeat on July 28 in advance. This is a lie from the real losers, aware of seeing themselves — with modesty — tripled in votes; and above all, observing a people courageously determined to claim their victory and make it count; equally, weighing with fear — or panic — the position of the FAN, which seems to correspond to the popular clamor, making it their own, and to the desire for the institutional recovery of Venezuela.
Stalking and violence are evidence against the opposition leadership, to the point of carrying out an attack against MCM and his campaign team in Barquisimeto, destroying two of his vehicles, with the intention of implying the enormous capacity and determination to carry out any atrocity.
It is undoubtedly a criminal warning against the humanity and physical integrity of those who are a hindrance to the intention of continuity and a danger to the autocratic power of domination. Logically, in these regrettable circumstances, the ineffectiveness of the prosecution is revealed, as is the fallacy of the official verb when they rant about the hatred and violence attributed to the Opposition, being them the cause of these scourges. Also, and it is very worrying, the vulnerability of the security rings of MCM and Edmundo, key and determining figures.

of the electoral outcome, barely
If we care about anything
to be composed
scheduled to hold elections cost
up, causing
the huge opposition disadvantage,
and seeing the impudence
of the Regime that harasses,
with cruelty and crude despotic foolishness,
to the candidate Edmundo,
to Maria Corina and other leaders
Democrats whose only
plausible purpose
is to rescue Freedom for purposes
noble and democratic;
willing to revive and adapt
—with the urgency of the case—
the welfare state
the right to justice and peace.

The Regime attributes its own terrible behavior to the Opposition, victim of such outrages, and will use them to carry out, once again, its aberrant plans against the Popular Will, regardless of the Barbados Agreements, or others in the negotiation phase.
To ignore everything, to act in contravention and disrespect of what has been agreed upon, of democratic values, in open defiance and disrespect of the established international order, is the greatest risk for the Chavistas, and in turn is the price they have assumed and are willing to pay when it comes to the supposed survival of the ‘Revolution’.
The pro-continuist party is working hard to save its panacea: the Chavista leadership and its pesuvist organization, now – after so much damage and failure – ready to ‘continue fighting’ for the inverted and contradictory ‘values’ that have caused the national debacle and suffering.
Faced with the scenario of possible negotiations, in which the swordsmen of Chavismo, questioned for different reasons beyond the abominable and unusual corruption, aspire to amnesty and forgiveness, it also fills Venezuelans with deep concern, in case they suppose the opposition leadership is preparing to pay too high a price for the transition.
For 7/28 and beyond, we are ready to exercise the citizenship that our responsibility brings us, in a hands-on effort for Venezuela.
