(CNN Spanish) — The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, spoke regarding the victory of the elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei.

The president avoided specifically naming the winner of the Argentine runoff, but described the incoming government as “neo-Nazi extreme right” and warned that the arrival of a right-wing extremist with an absolutely colonial project, kneeling to North American imperialism, is a “tremendous threat.”

“Yesterday there were presidential elections and, as was already predicted with the poll statistics, the neo-Nazi extreme right won in Argentina, it is an extreme right that comes with a colonial project for Argentina but that intends to lead a colonial project in all of Latin America and the Caribbean.

“From Venezuela we will always tell the truth, we will always tell our truth, we respect the vote of the Argentine people, they wanted to give themselves that Government, well, to the Argentinians we say, you decided,” commented the Venezuelan president.

Meanwhile, María Corina Machado, winner of the primary elections of the majority sector of the Venezuelan opposition, congratulated the Argentine people and Milei for an exemplary electoral process, also recognizing Patricia Bullrich and Mauricio Macri for working for the highest interest of the nation .

“Congratulations to all Argentines for an exemplary electoral process, and to their elected president, Javier Milei. The fight for change and Freedom advances in Latin America. Long live Argentina! Long live free Venezuela!

“My recognition to all the people from different sectors and parties, who with generosity and historical responsibility, worked for the best interest of Argentina. Very special congratulations to Patricia Bullrich and Mauricio Macri!” said Machado.
