(CNN Spanish) — Juan Guaidó traveled Monday night from Bogotá to Miami, a source close to the Venezuelan opposition leader told CNN.

According to the source, Guaidó boarded a plane from the Colombian airline Avianca at 11:00 p.m. local time.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry reported in a statement that Migration Colombia took Guaidó, “who was in Bogotá irregularly, to the El Dorado airport with the aim of verifying his departure on a commercial airline to the US.”

In the text they specify that the ticket had already been acquired by Guaidó himself. They conclude the letter by assuring that “Colombian Migration remained attentive to the fact that this trip took place without any delay.”

In the morning hours, Guaidó had reported that he entered Colombian territory on foot, but did not specify if he did so through any of the bridges that connect Colombia and Venezuela or if he crossed through illegal trails, also known as trails.

The Colombian Foreign Minister, Álvaro Leyva, assured that Guaidó entered Colombian territory inappropriately and that he was at risk because “in Colombia the law is complied with.”

Regarding this warning from the foreign minister, CNN contacted Guaidó’s team to find out their reaction but from there they responded that, for now, they will not comment.

Guaidó argued that he planned to meet with the delegations attending the international summit on the political situation in Venezuela on April 25 and also with the diaspora.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry responded that Guaidó was not invited to the conference. Neither is any other representative of the opposition or of the Venezuelan government.
