Caracas.- Hundreds of migrants stranded in Mexico, most of them Venezuelans, tried to forcefully cross the Paso del Norte international bridge, in Santa Fe, between Ciudad Juárez (Mexico) and El Paso (Texas, EE. UU.), to enter US territory.

The tense situation forced the agents of the Office of Customs and Border Protection to block the passage through the bridge on the US side, following the hundreds of migrants crossed the border entrance in Ciudad Juárez.

Barriers and barbed wire, with the custody of Border Patrol agents -with riot gear-, prevented migrants from crossing to the US side, according to what was specified by the Mexican media. The Herald of Juarez.

Spanish reporter Judith Torrea, who went to the scene and broadcast various broadcasts on the Instagram social network, spoke with some of the Venezuelan migrants who tried to cross the Paso del Norte international bridge.

“We are being victims of crime, rumors and outrages in the Mexican State,” said one of the Venezuelan migrants consulted by Torrea. Others denounced the difficulties in processing the permits and applications through the page set up by the US authorities.

Faced with the impossibility of crossing into the United States, the migrants headed towards the area near the bridge known as the edge of the Rio Grande, where they congregated, according to reports disseminated by Mexican media such as The Herald of Juarez.
