Venezuelan jockey, triple crown winner in the Dominican Republic, reappears this Sunday in La Rinconada | Horse riding 123

José Luis Villalobos is the only Creole jockey who has been able to win a triple crown in another countryhe did it in the Dominican Republic in 2020 with the horse Huracán P. The criollo has not ridden in La Rinconada for a long time and within the framework of the Caribbean Equestrian Series it will be his reappearance.

The last time Villalobos was in the La Rinconada winners’ enclosure was on December 16, 2018 with the mare Karina Mía, the following year he went to try his luck in the Dominican Republic and had great results there.

For Sunday he will lead Counselor, one of the Dominican representatives in the Caribbean Confraternity Cup, in this regard the jockey gave an interview and this is what he said.

“The horse has adapted very well to the track, it will have a good race and I would like to thank the owner and trainer for giving me the opportunity to drive the horse,” said the young man from Zul.

“I had the opportunity to drive Counselor in the Dominican Republic, I know him very well, so we will have a great race,” he recalled.

“I am very happy to practice my profession here in Venezuela, where I learned, I invite all the equestrian fans to enjoy this beautiful show,” he said.

I have approximately ten months without ridingI had a suspension at the V Centenario Racetrack and when I was regarding to return to ride here in Venezuela I had an accident in which I fractured my hand, but I am now 100% fit,” he concluded.
