Venezuelan winger Jefferson Savarino scored one of three goals as Botafogo beat Atlético Mineiro 3-0 in a Serie A match on Sunday, the first division of Brazilian professional football.
The Brasileirao match was played at the Nilton Santos stadium in Rio de Janeiro and corresponded to the 15th round. In that sports venue, Savarino started on the bench and entered the field at 71 minutes replacing Eduardo. He did not need much time on the field to show his talent, as he scored at 90+4′ and with that goal he decreed the final score.
He received a pass from Gregore and used a powerful mid-distance shot to nail the ball into the corner of the goal defended by Matheus Mendes. It was an anthology goal that the native achieved, just two days following finishing his performance with the Venezuelan national team in the Copa América United States 2024, where La Vinotinto fell on penalties 4-3 once morest Canada in the quarterfinals, following drawing 1-1 in the regulation period.

Before Savarino moved the nets for the third time in the Brasileirao 2024, his teammates Luiz Henrique and Cuiabano did the same. The former shook the nets at 13′ following being set up by Danilo Barbosa, while the latter did the same to finish off an individual move at 79′.
It was a brilliant display by Botafogo, who with the victory added three points, reaching 30 and placing themselves in second place in the table, made up of 20 teams and led by CR Flamengo with 31 points.
Atlético Mineiro, on the other hand, is not going through a good moment because it has accumulated 18 games and is twelfth in the general classification.
