The Spain Police arrested in Madrid a Venezuelan fugitive claimed in Argentina for allegedly belonging to an illegal organization and having committed scams, crimes that he was charged with after some events that occurred in 2018, the result of a police cooperation program between the European Union and Latin America.
As reported this Friday by the Police, the woman is accused of having integrated a transnational criminal organization for profit and that she committed property crimes, fraud and extortion with computerized means and the banking system.
For all these reasons, he had a valid international arrest warrant, as well as a red notice from Interpol – a request to arrest people who were pending trial or serving a sentence.
This is the first arrest of a person on the run from justice within the international project to locate fugitives in Latin America, which is part of an international police cooperation program called PAcCTO (Europe Latin America Assistance Program against Organized Transnational Crime).
It is a program financed by the European Union, whose objective is to contribute to security and justice in Latin America.
The investigation began in the middle of last February, when the agents carried out inquiries to verify if the fugitive was residing and working in Spain.
After verifying that he lived in Madrid, the Police established a surveillance device around his home, which ended with the arrest.
With the patrimonial crimes and fraud committed by the organization to which he supposedly belonged, he generated a high flow of money that, in addition to circulating through different countries, served to maintain his own structure and obtain a patrimonial benefit.
