Such is the case of the surgeon, PHD in orthopedics and traumatology, Fernando Gómez Aguado, who led a novel investigation that has revolutionized modern medicine in these specialties.
And it is that this novel treatment that has been tested in the United States, Spain and Venezuela, consists of the combination of the use of hyaluronic acid and a substance extracted from blood platelets and bioactive collagen or proteins from the umbilical cord, lyophilized in laboratories, which is successfully neutralizing the need for surgeries and long medical rest to combat knee pain.
In this sense, the doctor highlighted that the regeneration of joint cartilage is today a great medical-scientific possibility, “it is giving the patient the alternative of a productive working life while his healing is attended by traumatology doctors, experimental traumatology treatments, to eliminate the pain, stiffness and loss of functionality of the joints, are giving extremely encouraging answers”.
