A Venezuelan doctor was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Peru after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a patient while performing an ultrasound.
The convict responds to the name of Williamns Arturo Gómez, who worked as a doctor in a polyclinic in Comas, in the Peruvian capital.
The Third Office of the Sixth Corporate Provincial Prosecutor Specialized in Violence against Women and Members of the Family Group of North Lima was in charge of prosecuting the accused.
According to the official report, the doctor would have attacked a 19-year-old young man, when he was performing the aforementioned procedure.
THE AGGRIEVED MUST ALSO PAY A FINE
It was learned that Gómez was convicted of the crime “against sexual freedom, in the form of rape.” He must also pay a civil compensation to the victim of five thousand soles (about 1,350 dollars).
Likewise, it was specified that the assistant prosecutor Isabel Rosario Valdez Mamani, demonstrated in hearing that the defendant abused his position during the medical examination.
