Paulina Facchin, a Venezuelan human rights activist who arrived in Peru 11 years ago fleeing chavismo, denounced that she is facing a “witch hunt” following migrations order his expulsion from that country and apply an entry impediment for 15 years.
“In Peruvian lands, despite being far from the Venezuelan regime, I have suffered persecution, public harassment, public complaints have been made. I have had chavismo agents outside my house taking photos not only of me. But also my daughter, being a minor, and they were published on national television in Venezuela, ”she said in an interview with Rosa María Palacios.
He also recalled that despite no longer being in Venezuela, the Chavista regime has not given him any respite. He assured that he suffered from arbitrariness when he requested his nationality by naturalization in 2018.
Venezuelan activist suffers harassment
According to Facchin, Immigration told her that she had lied regarding her work, but showed documents and added that she was registered with the Peruvian Bar Association.
The entity would have alleged that she had no family roots, but according to the activist, Migration itself gave her daughter and husband the immigration card.
“It has been a constant, in the best Chavista style, of arbitrary, non-legal persecution,” added Paulina Facchin. At the same time as believing that Nicolás Maduro plans to make her a political prisoner. Well, she helped several Venezuelans to leave the country and take refuge in other nations.
“For years Nicolás Maduro has tried to return me to Venezuela through different ways, through harassment. So, Peru, which is part of the Pact of San José, intends to return me and hand me over to the clutches of Maduro. I am in hiding because my greatest fear is that I will be handed over to the regime of Nicolás Maduro. And that I become – instead of being an honorary lawyer for refugees and political prisoners – to be part of the list of political prisoners in any prison in Venezuela, “he said.
