Venezuela suffered a hard setback against Germany in its debut at Colombia 2024

Venezuela had a negative start to the U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024, after losing 5-2 on Sunday to Germany, one of the favorites to win the title of the event organized by the International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA).

The teams from Group D met at the Metropolitano de Techo stadium in Bogotá, where the German team displayed a devastating attack against a Vinotinto team that made multiple defensive errors, something that ended up taking its toll.

For the German squad, Marie Steiner (15 minutes), Loreen Bender (38′ and 45 +6′) Sophie Nachtigall (44′( and Cora Zicai (56′) scored.

For the Creole team, which is trained by the Italian Pamela Conti and is participating in the universal competition for players under 20 years of age for the first time since 2016, Rebecca Adamczyk (own goal at 43′) and Floriángel Apóstol (90 +5′) scored.

After the international match, in which German Sophie Nachtigall (51′) was the only one who received a yellow card, Venezuela will rest and will return to action on September 4 when it challenges South Korea in Bogota.
