Venezuela present at WTO Trade Facilitation meeting

A delegation from Venezuela is present at the meeting of the Trade Facilitation Committee of the World Trade Organization (WTO) taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.

The information was given by the Vice Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion, Johann Álvarez Márquez, through his account on the social network X. The meeting will be held this July 10 and 11.

“In the name of our president Nicolás Maduro and Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, we present at this international trade policy meeting, Venezuela’s progress in economic matters, despite the Unilateral Coercive Measures imposed on our country,” he explained.

Álvarez highlighted the set of actions and reforms that the president is promoting to recover and diversify the economy, which allows “the possibility of placing the country in a position of greater international commercial relations to benefit the people.”

According to the WTO, this committee “monitors the implementation of the Trade Facilitation Agreement and serves as a forum for members to raise and address related issues and concerns.”

Last June, the executive vice president highlighted the WTO announcement on the entry of Venezuela to the International Trade Facilitation Agreement.
